Warmth radiates through your body,
Stare sideways at the open window frame,
curtains dancing, dancing, dancing

Last birds flee as the Devil’s Soldiers come out to play.

Tears swell in my eyes, sharp pain, my body aches to touch her.
Stroke her hair and feel the hills of her body,
I seek the same comfort I once felt from having you near,

But nothing can compare…
I still dream of her.

Earth creaks and shudders like a sinking ship.
Rain beats down shadows slink over the window sill.
They consume everything that’s vulnerable,
taking what is due without mercy.

Leaves shake as the wind blows invasive breath across them. Hard to be in,
love cups you in its palm and one day it burns.

Nothing can compare…
I still dream of her.

At night I dream of her and I feel alive and whole,
but when I wake up I remember that she’s gone.
It crushes me like it did the morning before.
And I pray that it won’t last for long

Oh, Oh and I, I still dream of her,
